Privacy Policy

App: SteadySky (com.flightoffline.tracker). Last updated: July 31, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how the SteadySky application handles data. The app is designed to work mostly offline and with respect for your privacy: we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers, because the app has no servers of its own.

1. Location Data

The app requests precise and approximate location permissions and uses a foreground service to show your real-time position on the map during a flight and for tracking features.

• Location is processed exclusively on your device.
• It is not sent, shared, or uploaded to the developer or any third party by the offline tracker.
• Maps are offline: displaying your position requires no external transmission.
• You can revoke location permission at any time in Android settings.

2. Internet and Third-Party Services

The app connects to the Internet only for the optional Turbulence/Weather section, querying public and free third-party services anonymously and without API keys:

• Open-Meteo for weather and upper-air data.
• OpenSky Network anonymous access for air traffic data when available.
• NOAA Aviation Weather Center for aviation weather reports such as PIREP and SIGMET.

Requests may include route or geographic parameters needed to obtain weather data. They do not include accounts, developer-side identifiers, or payment details.

3. In-App Purchases

SteadySky offers optional Pro access through Google Play Billing. Transactions and payment data are handled by Google; the developer does not receive or store card or payment method details.

4. Local Data

Settings, preferences, flight sessions, downloaded maps and cached turbulence results are saved on your device. Uninstalling the app removes local app data according to Android behavior.

5. Notifications

Tracking status notifications are generated locally on the device and do not involve the collection of personal data.

6. Disclaimer

SteadySky is informational and recreational. It must not be used for aeronautical navigation, flight safety or operational decisions.

7. Website Statistics

This website (not the app) counts page views with an anonymous, cookie-free counter running entirely on Cloudflare. For each view we store only three aggregate values: the page visited, the country of origin (derived by Cloudflare's edge network from the request) and the day. No IP addresses, identifiers or personal data are stored, and nothing is shared with third parties. The aggregate numbers are publicly visible on the stats page.
